By using LivingWords you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not create an account or subscribe. Reading the Bible and browsing published studies does not require an account.

Who we are

LivingWords is operated by The Byte Bar Co in Orlando, Florida. The live site is thelivingwordsproject.com. Questions about these terms go to dev@thebytebar.com.

The service

We provide tools to read Scripture, write Bible studies, publish them, ask questions, and (for Pro subscribers) use AI help beside a study. Features may change as we improve the product. We may suspend or stop parts of the service when we need to for security, abuse, or maintenance.

LivingWords is offered as-is. We work hard to keep it reliable, but we do not promise uninterrupted access or that every AI answer will be complete or free of error. Scripture itself remains the source; our tools are aids for study and teaching.

Accounts

You need an account to write studies, comment, save work, or subscribe to Pro. You must give a real email you control, keep your password private, and be responsible for activity under your login. You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live (in the U.S., generally 18, or with a parent or guardian's consent where the law allows).

We may disable an account that breaks these terms, that we reasonably believe is fraudulent or abusive, or that we are required to close by law. You can ask us to close your account by writing to the contact below.

Your content

You keep ownership of the studies, comments, profile text, and other material you create. Drafts stay private to you until you publish. When you publish or post something publicly, you grant LivingWords a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, display, and distribute that content so the library and profiles can work — including caching and making reasonable copies for backups and delivery.

You represent that you have the right to post what you post, and that it does not infringe someone else's rights. You may not publish spam, malware, impersonation, illegal material, or content that harasses or targets others with abuse.

We may remove content that violates these terms or that we reasonably believe harms the community or the service. Removing a public study does not automatically erase copies others may have made while it was public.

LivingWords Pro

Writing and publishing studies is free. LivingWords Pro is an optional subscription at $5.99 per month, billed through PayPal. Pro unlocks AI tools beside the study (such as theologian questions, summaries, and discussion prompts). Card numbers stay with PayPal; we store enough to know whether your subscription is active.

You can cancel anytime from Account (or through PayPal). Cancellation stops future renewals; access continues through the period already paid. Refunds are described on our Refund policy page.

Acceptable use

• Do not try to break into accounts, scrape the service in a way that harms it, or overload our systems.
• Do not use Pro tools or Answers to generate harmful, illegal, or deceptive content, or to impersonate a person or ministry.
• Do not use LivingWords to send spam, sell ads on our pages, or redistribute the site as if it were yours.
• Do not reverse-engineer paid features to bypass billing or rate limits.
• Respect other writers: no harassment, hate directed at persons, or doxxing in comments or studies.

Disclaimer

LivingWords and AI-assisted features are study aids, not pastoral counseling, legal advice, or a substitute for your own reading of Scripture and the counsel of a trusted church. We make no warranty that the service will meet every need or that answers will always be accurate. To the fullest extent allowed by law, the service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Byte Bar Co and LivingWords will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim related to LivingWords is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for Pro in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) fifty U.S. dollars ($50). Some places do not allow these limits; where they do not, our liability is limited to the maximum the law allows.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes that cannot be resolved informally will be heard in state or federal courts located in Florida, and you consent to that venue, except where consumer law in your place of residence requires otherwise.

Changes

We may update these terms when the product or the law changes. The date at the top is the last revision. Continued use after a material change means you accept the updated terms. If a change matters a great deal, we will try to note it clearly on this page.
